Danny Sanders leads Bowl Blowout Contest after first update

The First 10 Bowl games are in the books as the NCAA College Bowl season got underway on Friday, Dec. 17 th with the Bahamas Bowl, which featured Middle Tennessee State University and Toledo. MTSU came out on top in that one 31-24.

Also playing on Dec. 17 th was Northern Illinois and Coastal Carolina in the Cure Bowl, which Saw Coast Carolina come out victorious, as they edged out Northern Illinois, 47-41. On Dec. 18 th , Western Kentucky and Appalachin State squared off in the Boca Raton Bowl, as WKU defeated App. State, 59-38.

South Carolina State took it to Jackson State in the Cricket Celebration Bowl, taking the contest, 31-10, while UAB defeated #13 BYU in the Independence Bowl, 31-28. Fresno State took down UTEP in the New Mexico Bowl, 31-24, while Liberty blasted Eastern Michigan in the Lending Tree Bowl, 56-20.

Utah State knocked off Oregon State in the L.A. Bowl, 24-13, while Louisiana took down Marshall in the New Orleans Bowl, 36-21, and Tulsa knocked Old Dominion, 30- 17, in the Mrytle Beach Bowl.

We had 11 contestants this year in our Bowl Blowout Challenge and the results after the first round of games are as follows:

Danny Sanders is in first place with nine points, while Stevy Smith, Lonnie Neinast, Tim Walker, Ed Dabrowski and John Hernandez are tied for second with six points each. Mark Grace is in third place with five points, while Tommy Cloninger, Larry Ashley and Juan Hernandez are tied for sixth with four points each. Teresa Dabrowski is in seventh with three points.
