The Texas Department of Public Safety reported that on Dec. 12, 2021, at 6:33 a.m. a two-vehicle collision took place at FM 1585, five miles southwest of Wolfforth inside Hockley County.
Vehicle 1, a 2011 Ford F-150 Pickup truck was being driven eastbound on FM 1585 by a 45- year old Levelland male. Vehicle 2, a 2017 Cadillac SUV was driven by a 64-year old female out of Lubbock, who was going westbound on FM 1585.
Vehicle 1 crossed over the center stripe, into the westbound lane of traffic , directly in the path of vehicle 2. the two vehicles collided head-on in the westbound lane of travel. The driver of vehicle 1 was transported to University Medical Center in Lubbock for serious injuries. The driver of vehicle 2 was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of injuries sustained during the crash.
Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.
