The Littlefield Lady Cats rolled past the Lamesa Lady Tornadoes in their district-opener on Friday, 60-11.

With the win, the Lady Cats improve to 11-6 overall, 1-0 in district play.

With less than a minute gone in the opening quarter, Madison McNeese came away with a poke away that led to a fast-break layup for Kennadi Hanlin to put them in front, 2-0. With just under five minutes to go in the opening-quarter, McNeese was fouled on an attempt by Reagan Derington. She made one-of-two shots at the line to extend their lead to, 3-0.

McNeese knocked down a jumper from the left elbow off of the assist from Brookelyn Gau and followed it up with a floater on the right side to push their lead to, 7- 0, with just under four minutes to play in the opening quarter. Lamesa took a time out with 3:53 to play in the first quarter and out of the break, Mya Carrejo was fouled on an attempt by Hanlin. She missed both free throws, though, as Lamesa took a nother time out with 2:42 to play in the quarter.

Out of the break, Solis scored a put-back off of a miss by Bri Valdez and McNeese followed it up with a three from the left elbow off of the assist from Hanlin to extend their lead to, 12-0, with just under two minutes to play in the quarter. McNeese drained a three from the left elbow off of the assist from Valdez and Jazmin Barios buried a three from the right wing off of the assist from McNeese on their next possession to make the score, 18- 0. With time winding down in the quarter, Amiah Elizondo split a pair of free throws and McNeese scored a lay-up off of a steal in their own end to close out the quarter for the Lady Cats on a, 21- 0, run.

Leilani Solis opened the second quarter with a lay-up off of a Lamesa turnover to extend the lead to 23-0, and a high pass by Lamesa bounced into the open court and was picked up by Hanlin, who took it to the hoop for an easy lay-up, making the score, 25-0, with just over five minutes to play in the first half.

Lamesa took a time out with 4:54 remaining in the half, and out of the break, Gau knocked down a short jumper from the right side, off of the assist from Hanlin, making the score, 27-0. Barios dropped in a lay-up off of an assist from Valdez, but on the other end, Sagen Oaks banked in a three from the left elbow to get Lamesa on the board, trailing the Lady Cats, 29-3.

With 2:26 left to play in the half, Ashtyn Parker knocked down a jumper from the right elbow off of the assist from Gau, and on their next possession Valdez hit Solis for a jumper from the right wing, pushing their lead to, 33-3. Elizondo closed out the quarter with a lay-up, drawing an and-one foul on Krystal Moreno. She converted the free throw to send the Lady Cats into halftime in front of Lamesa, 36-3.

McNeese opened the second half with back-to-back lay-ups off of assists from Hanlin and Solis and Parker follwed them up with a back door pass to McNeese for a lay-up, pushing their lead to, 42-3, with 5:34 to play in the third quarter. With 3:26 to play in the quarter, McNeese was fouled on an attempt by Savannah Moreno. She missed the first shot, but made the second to extend the lead to, 43-3.

Chrisalynn Uresti dropped in a lay-up for Lamesa to end the scoring drought and Oaks banked in another three from the top of the key, trimming the lead to, 46-8, but with one minute to play in the quarter, Arianna Cruz drained a three from the right elbow off of the assist from Parker and Parker followed it up with a lay-up off of the bounce pass from Solis to make the score, 48-8, heading into the final quarter of play.

Parker was fouled on an attempt by Fashaa Edwards; she made one-of-two shots at the line to make the score, 49-8. She would score back-to-back lay-ups off of assists from McNeese and Solis to push their lead out to, 53-8, but on the other end, Savannah Moreno was fouled on an attempt by Cruz. She split the shots and on the next play, Madison Deringon was fouled on an attempt by McNeese. She converte both free throws to trim the lead to, 53-11, with 4:17 to play in the game.

Littlefield would close out the game on a, 7-0 scoring run to take the contest, 60-11.

McNeese led the team, posting a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds, to go along with five assists and four steals. Parker joined her in double-figures scoring with 11 points, to go along with four rebounds and two assists. Cruz chipped in six points

Cruz chipped in six points and one rebound, while Solis tallied six points and four assists. Barios contributed five points, two rebounds and one assist, while Gau tallied four points, three rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal, and Hanlin added four points, three assists, two rebounds and one steal.

Elizondo added three points, while Valdez finished with two points, three assists and two rebounds.

The Lady Cats were at Denver City on Tuesday. Results were not available at press time. They will continue their season next week when they host the Wildcat Classic. Their first round game will be on Monday against the Olton Fillies.

Tip-off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
