Volunteers are needed for a clean-up event scheduled for Dec.11th, 9 a.m. to 12 noon.

We will focus on the downtown area, but everyone in our community is encouraged to clean around their homes, allies, and other open areas that have been neglected, or have collected trash from blowing West Texas winds.

This event will adhere to the guidelines established for volunteer clean up events as per The City of Littlefield “Clean Up Day Rules.” A monitored roll-off dumpster will be parked in the downtown area for trash collection from our neighborhoods.

Items ACCEPTED for the rolloff dumpster will be: litter, chairs, carpets, bedding, and yard waste. There may also be space for smaller beds, couches, tables, washers and dryers but it is highly encouraged that those items be dropped off at the Citizen’s Collection Station.

Items NOT ACCEPTED will be: food waste, animal waste, tires, batteries, chemical waste, radioactive waste, biohazards, construction materials, concrete, lumber, or sheetrock (except in small amounts).

We will have trash bags, gloves and safety vests for volunteers.

Other items NEEDED that will not be provided are: utility brooms, shovels, weed-eaters, leaf blowers and trash pickers.

Volunteers may register on the morning of the event. There will be a registration canopy with tables set up for organizers. Any amount of time for their service is greatly appreciated.

There will be coffee, donuts, fruit, bottled water and other snacks for volunteers.

Citizen’s Collection Station at 1102 E. 6th St. from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
