DA’s donation helps Littlefield PD officers

By JOE GONZALES

Monday morning, the Lamb County District Attorney’s Office made a $5,000 donation to the Littlefield Police Department.

Littlefield Chief of Police Ross Hester said the money was going to be used to help purchase nine ballistic vests for officers on patrol.

Hester said his department was grateful for the donation because it will enhance his officers’ safety immensely.

“The youngest vest we have right now is fifteen years old,” said Hester. “These vests, that are Kevlar based, have a life span from five to six years, depending on the manner that they’ve been used, how roughly they’ve been treated and if they stopped rounds before.”
