Estrada, Grace win week 12 Football Contes

The Lamb County Leader-News Football Contest has come to a close, after 12 weeks of battling it out, we have one contestant at the top of it all.

Ivan Estrada was our overall winner in this year’s contest with 175 total points, edging out Mark Grace and Lonnie Neinast, who each finished with 172 points.

As for the Week 12 results, we had five contestants tie for first with a mark of 15-5, which were Ivan Estrada, Mark Grace, Larry Ashley, Teresa Dabrowski and Lucas Casas.

The tie-breaker this week was the combined score of the Cardinals and Panthers, which was 44 points.

Grace and Estrada split the first and second-place winnings evenly, as they both guessed the tie-breaker on the nose, with a guess of 44 points. Casas took third place with a guess of 46 points, edging out Teresa Dabrowski and Ashley.

In the college ranks this week, Notre Dame handled Virginia, 28-3, on the road, while Ole Miss held off Texas A&M, 29-19, and Ohio State blasted Purdue, 59-31. Michigan held off the upset big by Penn State, 21-17, while Baylor rallied past Oklahoma to stun the Sooners in Waco, 27-14, and Wake Forest edged out North Carolina State, 45-42.

Minnesota took down Iowa, 27- 22, while Mississippi State took down Auburn, 43-34, and Texas Tech stunned Iowa State with a last second 62-yard field goal to down the Cyclones, 41-38. Michigan State took care of Maryland, 40-21.

In the NFL, the Cowboys throttled the Falcons, 43-3, while the Titans snuck by the Saints, 23- 21, and the Eagles took down the Broncos, 30-13. The Patriots handled the Browns, 45-7, while the Colts got by the Jaguars, 23- 17, and Washington took down the Buccaneers, 29-19.

The Chiefs blasted the Raiders, 41-14, while the Packers shutout the Seahawks, 17-0, and the Vikings edged out the Chargers, 27- 20. The Bills took it to the Jets, 45- 17

Ṫhe rest of the week 12 results

Those who finished 14-6 this week were Lonnie Neinast, Marcelino Garcia Jr., Terrill Moorhead, Devin Garcia, Stevy Smith, Robin Elliott, Marcus Garcia, Ed Dabrowski, Bobby Cunningham and Floyce Pierce. Contestants who finished 12-8 this week were David Neinast, Kay Cloninger, Lyndel Evans, JR Herrell, Thomas Blackstone and Charlie Smith, while those who finished 11-9 this week were Donna Neinast, Johnny Rosemond, Dewayne Hayes, Martin Duran and Brenda Herrell.

Oscar Sanchez and Jim Davis Sr. finished 10-10 this week, while Jim Davis Jr., finished 8-12.

Rounding out the top 10 finish ers in the overall standings are Tommy Cloninger and Donna Neinast who each finished with 171 points, David Neinast, who finished with 170 points, Kay Cloninger, who finished with 169 points, Evans and Sanchez, who each finished with 167 points, Garcia Jr., and Moorhead, who finished with 165 points.

JR Herrell finished with 164 points, while Jan Smith finished with 163 points and Blackstone rounds out the top 10 with 161 points.
