Celebration of Life service for Ann Marie (Clayton) Kelley age 89, of Lubbock, Texas and formerly of Earth, Texas, was held Monday afternoon, November 1, 2021 at First Baptist Church in Earth with Bro. Rob Norris of Springlake, Texas and Bro. Glenn Harlin of Lubbock, Texas officiating. Burial was in Earth Memorial Cemetery. Ann went to her heavenly home Friday, October 29, 2021 in Lubbock, Texas.

Ann was born November 11, 1931 in Olney, Texas to William Thomas “W.T.” and Myrtle Flora (Chitwood) Clayton. She married Donald Clifford Kelley in Springlake on April 29, 1950. Ann attended and graduated from Springlake School in 1949. Ann loved American history, family genealogy, teaching Sunday school and being a homemaker and mother to her three girls. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She accepted the Lord as her Savior at the age of nine and was baptized in Hodge Lake. She was a long time resident of Earth and enjoyed making genealogy scrapbooks.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; two brothers, Billy Wayne Clayton, former Speaker of the House of Texas; and Donnie Clayton both of Springlake.

She is survived by her three daughters: Annita Taylor and husband, Doug of Amarillo; Donita Clark and husband, Roger of Lubbock, and Connie Jaquess and husband, David of Arkansas; six grandchildren: Brian Taylor and wife, Abigail, Anna Taylor, Joshua Clark and wife, Terisa, Kellye Turner and husband, Chad, Travis Jaquess and wife, Rebecca, Julie Liniger and husband, Bobby; and 12 great-grandchildren: Hudson, Lillian, and Lucy Taylor, Katie and Amber Clark, Knatalye, Alexis, and Truett Turner, Abigail and Tyler Jaquess, David and Katie Liniger; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family wishes to express gratitude to the many friends of the Springlake Earth community. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Springlake Earth EMS and Volunteer Fire Dept., First Baptist Church of Earth, Springlake Cemetery, Earth Memorial Cemetery, and Kerri Brown of “In Faith Ministries”, www.infaith.org/Kerri-brown.
