Corey Youso, electrician journeyman at Tolk Generating Station, was leisurely enjoying his breakfast on a mostly sunny July 3, vacationing at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort in Colorado Springs.

Corey heard a crunch (that ended up being the street curb) and, then, glimpsed an SUV traveling up an embankment and smash through a mostly wrought iron fence.

“We watched it climb the hill, go airborne and go into the pool,” Corey said to the local Fox21 News team, who broadcast a story on the event.

Corey ran downstairs and jumped into the pool to assist. Someone had opened the back hatch, causing the Lincoln MKX to rapidly fill with water. The 72- year-old driver was struggling with her seatbelt, and Corey was able to unfasten the restraint, pull the woman through the passenger window, and get her safely beside the pool.
