The Springlake-Earth Wolverines’ varsity football team improved to 4-1 on the season on Friday, as they 45’ed White Deer in the first half, 47-0.

The Wolverines struck first, as Braxton Ethridge connected with Dereck Rosalez for a 39- yard touchdown. The kick by Keshan Holmes was good, making the score, 8-0. Holmes followed it up with a four-yard rushing touchdown and nailed the kick after, to put them up, 16-0.

Later in the first quarter, Roel Fuentes rushed for a 24-yard touchdown, that was followed by the kick from Holmes to push their lead to, 24-0. The Wolverines kept their foot on the pedal, as Trace Goodman, scored on a two-yard touchdown run to make the score, 32-0, after the kick from Holmes.

Evan DeLeon hit Rosalez for a 46-yard touchdown strike and Ethridge followed it up with a four-yard touchdown run to extend their lead to, 45- 0. Fuentes closed out the first quarter with a safety to make the score, 47-0.

Springlake-Earth finished with 222 yards of offense, including 144 passing yards and 78 rushing yards.

Ethridge finished the game, five-of-five passing for 98 yards and one touchdown; he also added four carries for 23 yards and one touchdown. DeLeon finished the game, one-of-two passing for 46 yards and one touchdown.

Fuentes led the rushing attack with three carries for 33 yards and one touchdown, while Holmes added four carries for 20 yards and one touchdown and Goodman finished with one carry for two yards and one touchdown.

Rosalez led the receiving attack for the Wolverines, with three catches for 112 yards and two touchdowns, while Davey Crandall added one catch for 20 yards.

Defensively, Fuentes finished with five tackles, including two for loss and a safety, while Goodman, tallied eight total tackles, including one for loss. Crandall tallied seven tackles on the night.

The Wolverines will host Crowell on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
