The Rotary Pancake Breakfast will begin at 7 a.m. the morning of Cotton and Crude and will go until 9:30 a.m. on the corner of Houston Street and Avenue G.

Tickets are $5 in advance and at the door. Children 5 years old and younger eat for free.

Tickets can be purchased from any Rotary Club member or the morning of Cotton and Crude at the breakfast.

The Smith South Plains Parade will kick off at 9:30 a.m. and will start on Avenue H.

There will be several categories for parade entries and overall, prizes will be awarded for first place, second place and third place.

Line-up for the parade will begin at 8:15 a.m. with different areas designated for each category.

The Chamber of Commerce also reminds parade participants that any entry using a horse or mule must participate in the parade as a mounted horse or horse drawn wagon or carriage entry.

All entries for the parade should be in place by 8:30 a.m. as they will be judged prior to the parade. Each category will have a winner. Awards will be presented before the parade and winners will be asked to display their prize for the public to see during the parade.

From all the entries, a “Best of Parade” float will be chosen, as well as first place, $300; second place, $200; and third place, $100.

Registration is not required. For more information on the parade, contact the Levelland Chamber of Commerce by calling (806) 894-3157.

Following the parade, vendor booths will be set up around the downtown square. The Chamber of Commerce is still seeking applications for vendors.

The guidelines for vendors have been posted online to the Chamber of Commerce’s website at levelland.com.

The deadline for all applications is Wednesday, Sept. 22. Applications received after Sept. 22 will be charged a $25 late fee that is non-refundable. Checks will not be accepted after Sept. 22.

Applications submitted by mail will be posted the date of receipt. If more than one application received daily for the same location, the Chamber of Commerce will randomly assign booths. Booth spaces will not be reserved with a credit card payment over the phone without the submission of a completed application.

Set-up for the event will be Friday, Sept. 24, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 25 from 6 a.m. until 7:30 a.m.

All vehicles must be removed from the festival zone by 8 a.m. or will be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense.

The parade and festival will begin at 9:30 a.m., thus cars must be out of the parade route. Additional parking is located at the former Citizen’s Bank building, one block west of the courthouse square.
