Lamb County Reetired Teachers Association will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 2, at United Methodist Church, with President Cindie Walker, presiding.
Janice Sokora will present the monthly program.
For the program on Tuesday, Feb. 2, nine members present, participated in a zoom program that was presented by District 17 President Terri Navrkal.
She reported the New Tutorial Program (KNACK) was officially kicked off on Monday, Feb. 1, and they want to reach 100,000 members this year.
Also on the zoom presentation, Paula Miller, District 17 Senate Chair on Legislative issues, reported that for the first time in a long time, the pension system is very sound.
She noted that there are 325 senior citizens who are over 100 years old, and (COLA) members need a cost of living increase.
She explained, “Our health insurance changed from Humana to United for members over 65 years old, and Blue Cross and Blue Shield Insurance for members under 65.
During the meeting, Mary Kay Ray installed new officers for the Lamb County Retired Teachers Association.
She gave each officer a candy bar which describes their job description.

Members were invited to watch for news on Federal Bill 82, and invited to join the local Retired Teachers Association, to help the Association receive another check.
Local dues are $5, plus $35 state dues.
