Lamb County residents are reminded of and encouraged to continue to exercise good judgment in protecting ourselves and others:

• Wear a mask at all times, when outside of, or away from your home or office / place of work.

• Limit the size of any gathering which will be attended by persons who do not all reside in the same household.

• If you are sick, or you have serious existing medical conditions, please stay home. Our local businesses and community organizations have done an excellent job at offering delivery services to assist those who need to stay home, and they will continue to do so.

• Persons who are high-risk because of medical conditions, or persons who feel more secure doing so, should wear a mask when going out in public at all times.

• All persons should continue the good hygiene practices that have been highlighted and prioritized during this time. Any time you go out in public or have contact with someone or something away from your home, you should wash your hands or utilize hand sanitizer.

• All persons should continue to follow the guidelines issued by the Centers for Disease Control (”CDC") and Texas Department of State Health Services (”DSHS").

• All persons should educate themselves prior to traveling outside the area, especially to other states or locations.

I’m so thankful that those who have been burdened by this disease have willingly taken steps to best protect their families and our community. Please continue to do so.

If you are asked to self-isolate, please take this request seriously. If you are contacted by the Local Health Authority, the County, or DSHS, we expect that you will cooperate with their efforts, to not only investigate the illness, but also trace any possible exposure.

If you are asked to quarantine and choose not to, please be aware you will face consequences for that choice—protecting the citizens of this great County is something I take very seriously.

I would like to personally thank the efforts of all our partners—first responders, law enforcement, hospital staff and personnel, nursing home and assisted living staff, retail businesses, front-line workers, and County and City employees in all our communities — their efforts during this difficult time have made a difference.

We are all tired of the restrictions, but we have people in the County that we all know and love who have been seriously ill, and who have died from this dreadful disease. Please do your part and follow the CDC and DSHS guidelines.
