Alex Mendoza, P.E., has been selected as the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Littlefield Area Engineer. Mendoza is a licensed professional engineer with more than nine years of experience serving the Lubbock District.
Mendoza is a graduate of West Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineer-ing. He began working in the Littlefield Area Office as an engineering assistant in 2017. Throughout his career, he has gained extensive experience in transportation planning, design, construction, and maintenance.
Since December 2022, Mendoza served as assistant area engineer for the Littlefield Area Office, helping manage area-wide transportation operations and overseeing projects totaling more than $200 million.
He assumed his new role Sept. 1, and will be responsible for leading construction and maintenance operations for Lamb, Hockley, Parmer, Bailey and Cochran counties while overseeing the delivery of critical transportation projects throughout the area.
