Emma ‘Nell’ Ingle
Feb. 3,1946 ~ Sept 1,2026
On September 1, 2026, Emma ‘Nell’ Ingle, 80, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior. She was born on February 3,1946, in Am herst, Texas to Millard Judson Johnson and Vera Eunice Johnson (Brown).
Growing up, after the passing of both her parents, Nell went to live with her sister, Lucille and Sonny Friday, at the age of 13 and developed a special bond with their children. Nell married her lifelong husband, Jim Ingle in Sudan, Texas on May 25, 1963. The couple had three children that they raised with values rooted in faith. Nell was a woman of many talents and had an admirable work ethic. She wore many hats throughout her career journey. Nell worked at Roden Drug while attending Littlefield High School. She would later work for GTE as a telephone operator. For several years, she was a stay-at-home mom because being involved in her children’s lives was important to her and if the position was available, she was a room mother for their classrooms. She was both a Den Mother for Boy Scouts and a Brownie Leader for Girl Scouts. Nell loved her children and the community she served. She even coached tJttle Dribblers where in her younger years, Nell played volleyball at Littlefield High School. Nell and her husband were active Band Parents where they chaperoned many Friday night games and band trips. Nell was a member of Sudan Church of Christ and attended and taught bible school and vacation bible school. She also volunteered as the youth parents that chaperoned the youth trip to Ship Rock, New Mexico. Because Nell was hospitable to all her family and friends, she opened her home to hosting exchange students for the Lions Club.
Her career would start back up where she went to work at the Lamb County Leader-News as the Society Editor where she wrote a weekly feature on Lamb County Cooks, she opened H&R Block and would finish her career working at Lowe’s Corporate office. Furthermore, in the 1980’sNell was a Weight Watchers lecturer for Littlefield, Muleshoe, Levelland, and Lubbock. With a servant’s heart, she was a member of several clubs throughout her life that included the Sudan Young Homemakers, the Trailor Club Tumbling Tumbleweeds, Crafty Gardeners, and Lamb County Cruizers Car Club. She also served on the Littlefield Chamber of Commerce. She had the privilege of running for Lamb County Clerk which opened up the chance to meet Governor George Bush.
Nell had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh and make other’s laugh, especially her grands. They made memories with their ‘Mimi’ that will last them a lifetime. Nell made the best homemade chocolate ice cream known as ‘Mimi’s’ ice cream. Nell was a collector of clocks and loved treasures. She was an avid walker and could be seen all over Littlefield every day. Her hobbies included gardening, crafting, sewing, and crocheting. The humorous side of Nell contributed to her joy of dressing up for Halloween. She loved to dress up in her clown costume and was a Prairie woman at the Centennial Celebration.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Jim Ingle of Sudan, Texas; son, Jamie Ingle and wife, Tammy of Littlefield, Texas; two daughters, Renee Faverand spouse, Kerry of Fieldton, Texas, and TJ Thomas and spouse, James of Woodrow, Texas; eight grandchildren, Matthew Ingle, Madison Ingle, and Brogan Stewart and wife, Kylie all of Lubbock, Texas, Kamryn Palma, Kinsler Palma, and Kambelle Thomas all of Woodrow, Texas, and Kali Palma of Belton, Texas; sister, Imogene Evans and spouse, Sid of Palmer, Texas; sister-in-law, Joyce Johnson of Hearne, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Nell Ingle is preceded in death by her parents, Millard Judson Johnson and Vera Eunice Johnson; granddaughter, Julie Faver Maxwell; nephews, David Friday, Steve Friday, and Kenneth Johnson; brother, Glen Johnson; brother-inlaw, Lonnie Collins; and sister-in-law, Lucille Friday and spouse, Sonny.
A Celebration of Life Service was held Saturday afternoon, September 12, 2026, at Crescent Park Church of Christ in Littlefield, Texas with Terry Wilson and Jim Harris officiating.

Cremation arrangements were under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield, Texas.
