MORTON – On Sunday, August 30th, at approximately 3:51 a.m., the Cochran County Sheriff’s Office called the Texas Rangers to assist with a shooting that resulted in two deaths.
The shooting took place in the 800 block of Fillmore Avenue in Morton, Texas.
The Texas Department of Public Safety can confirm that the deceased have been identifi ed as 18-year old Noah Ornelas and 19-year old Deven Ponce.
The suspect, Tanane Brackens, 18, has been arrested.
The Texas Rangers are assisting in this investigation, and any further inquiries should be directed to the Cochran County Sheriff’s Office.
