Members of Littlefield Independent Baptist Church, located at 812 E. Wayland Jennings Blvd. in Littlefield, began their Fourth of July celebration with a pancake breakfast Saturday morning before spending the day out on the street connecting with the community.
About 25 church members, including children, gathered along Wayland Jennings Boulevard, Hall Avenue, and several nearby street corners to greet passersby and hand out patriotic items. The church distributed more than 225 copies of the U.S. Constitution, along with American flags, Gospel tracts, and patriotic pinwheels.
The Constitutions were donated by the Constitutionalist Society as part of the outreach effort, which was meant to recognize the nation’s 250th birthday while sharing both patriotic and faith-based messages.
After several hours in the summer heat, participants returned to the church to close out the day with pizza, cold tea, and lemonade.
