Two dead, one injured in fatal Hockley County crash on July 2nd

A 44-year-old woman and a 14-year-old are dead following a fatal crash in Hockley County on July 2, 2026. The second passenger in the vehicle, a 22-yearold woman, was transported to University Medical Center Lubbock with serious injuries.

Just past 6 p.m. on the evening of the crash, 31year-old Abraham Knelsen drove a 2019 Ford F250 pickup towing a trailer northbound on FM 168. Knelsen approached the intersection with FM 1585, which had a stop sign. Traveling westbound on FM 1585, 44- year- old Felicia Flores approached the intersection with two passengers in their 2015 Chevrolet Silverado: a 14year-old and 22-year-old Aliyanna Luna.

The Ford F250 and the trailer pulled out in front of Flores’ pickup, causing it to collide with the trailer and roll over. The driver and passenger were pronounced dead on the scene, and Luna was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. Knelsen was uninjured.
