Roel Honorato Hernandez, 61, of Littlefield, Texas passed away on May 28, 2026, after fighting a battle with cancer. He was born on January 18, 1965, to Juan and Olga Hernandez.
Roel was a lifelong resident of Littlefield. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend whose kindness and dedication to his family touched many lives. Roel graduated from Littlefield High School in 1983 and attended Metro Barber College where he earned his barber license in 1984. Over the years he worked at The Hair Place and Mr. Toms before finding his home at The Kut Hutt in Littlefield, where he built lasting friendships with co-workers and clients alike.
Roel enjoyed talking to people about his faith. He was a member of the Jehovah's Witness Organization. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. He cherished the moments shared with those he loved and will be remembered for his warm heart, friendly spirit, and the care he showed to everyone he met.
He is survived by his mother, Olga Hernandez of Littlefield, Texas; his sisters, Irene Hernandez (Robert) of Littlefield, Texas, and Donna Carabajal (Rick) of Beeville, Texas; his brothers, Raul Hernandez of Littlefield, Texas, Chris Hernandez of Littlefield, Texas, and Marcos Hernandez of San Antonio, Texas; a nephew, Ricky Carabajal of Beeville, Texas; four nieces, Ivana Hernandez of Littlefield, Texas, Samantha Hernandez of San Antonio, Texas, Micaela Hernandez of San Antonio, Texas, and Jessica Perez of San Antonio, Texas; his honorary sisters, Monica McGee and Melissa Sawyer; his honorary brother, Brandon Young; and numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Roel is preceded in death by his father, Juan Ruiz Hernandez Jr.; and two brothers, Richard Hernandez and Orlando Hernandez.
Roel will be deeply missed by all who loved him. Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Grace Chapel within Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield, Texas with Ernesto Corona officiating.
