A man from Socorro, Texas, died in a crash on the morning of June 6, 2026.
On the morning of the incident, 54-year-old Clodoaldo Faustino Salas traveled northwest on US Highway 84 in a 2017 Freightliner truck-tractor with a semi-trailer attached. The Texas Department of Public Safety reported that Salas’ vehicle then left the roadway into the center me-dian, crossed the southeast lanes on the opposite side and then back into the northwest lanes before entering a barrow ditch.
The truck skidded on its side, rolled over and came to a stop on the left driver’s side. Road conditions were wet, and Salas was not wearing a seatbelt.
Salas was pronounced dead on scene as a result of the injuries from the crash.
