Born November 27, 1944, in Littlefield, Texas, to Robert and Kathleen (Brewer) Ramage, Charles was raised on the family farm in Spade, where he learned the values of hard work, faith, and stewardship that guided the rest of his life.
Charles graduated from Spade High School in 1963 and attended McMurry College in Abilene before earning his bachelor's degree in accounting from Texas Tech University in 1967. He earned his CPA license and worked in Midland for four years before returning home to farm. Farming was never simply an occupation to Charles. It was his calling. He deeply loved the land and took great pride in caring for it faithfully and responsibly through the years.
On November 2, 1968, he married Francine Struve, and together they shared more than 57 years of marriage, building a life centered on faith, family, and service to others.
A devoted member of Olton Methodist Church, Charles served faithfully on numerous church committees, taught Sunday School, and was a longtime church treasurer. His dedication to the Olton community reached far beyond the church walls. He served on the Olton School Board, the Olton Stock Show board, and played an instrumental role in raising funds for the Olton Ag Pavilion. Charles also proudly served on the Lamb County Electric Cooperative Board of Directors for 39 years.
Charles was an avid supporter of the Olton Mustangs and Fillies and could often be found cheering on his children and grandchildren at countless sporting events and activities. He enjoyed tending his garden, raising watermelons and cantaloupes, and spending quiet moments sitting on the deck in Ruidoso, New Mexico, breathing in the mountain air. Of all the roles he held in life, the one he treasured most was that of husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Kathleen Ramage; two brothers, Marc Ramage and Richard Ramage; and one sister, Linda Parker.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Fran Ramage of Olton; two sons, Michael Ramage and wife, Stacie of Olton and Bobby Ramage and wife, Courtney of Shallowater; one sister, Carolyn Holcombe and husband, Wendell of Kilgore; and two sisters-in-law, Sandy Ramage of Odessa and Catherine Ramage of Omaha, Nebraska.
He was blessed with five grandchildren: Zachary, Bryson, Analise, Sawyer, and Jentry; and two great-grandchildren, Harper and Cannon.
