On Tuesday, February 24, 2026, the Littlefield Junior Honor Society inducted 12 new members. Selections were made based on outstanding scholarship, character, leadership, service, and citizenship. To be inducted, a student must have an average of 90 or above in their academic classes. Once selected, members have the responsibility to continue to demonstrate all of the qualities. Kendall Vargas, a current member of the L.J.H.S., opened the program with the Pledge of Allegiance, and then Ian Mata, vicepresident of the L.J.H.S., welcomed everyone. Littlefield Junior High Principal, Jena Montgomery, spoke to the L.J.H.S. members and their families.
L.J.H.S. president, Eli Wilson, explained that membership in this organization has been earned by the demonstration of the five qualities held in high esteem by the Society.
With a candle-lighting ceremony, the officers then gave the meaning of each quality and explained how the members are expected to use each in their lives. The officers include: president, Eli Wilson; vicepresident, Ian Mata; secretary, Jaden Winters; treasurer, Diego Silveira; and parliamentarian, Kaden Winters.
After Eli led the inductees and the current members in the L.J.H.S. pledge, Jena Montgomery, junior high principal, presented each inductee with a certificate. The current members were then recognized. Ian closed the ceremony.
The new members include: Eighth Grade- Daniel Chairez, Ma’Kayla Chavez, Dominic Garcia, Leighton Thomas, and C.J. Trevino.
