Lamb Co. Library Board sponsors Sock Drive

The Salvation Army of Lubbock has reported that socks are the most requested but least donated item at homeless shelters.

In response, the Lamb County Library and the Lamb County Courthouse are conducting a Sock Drive to help those in need.

One Drop Box has been set up at the Lamb County Library located at 110 E 6th Street, in Littlefield.

Two boxes have been set up at the 1st & 2nd floors of the Lamb County Courthouse in Littlefield.

New socks of all sizes are appreciated. Socks may be dropped off during business hours at both locations from November 3, 2025 to December 1, 2025.

To promote the Sock Drive and encourage the spirit of giving during the holiday season, District Court Judge, Scott Say and Lamb County Judge James M. “Mike DeLoach have initiated a friendly competition. The donation box on the second floor of the Lamb County Courthouse is designated Judge Say’s box, and the donation box on the first floor has been designated Judge Deloach’s box. The “grand” prize awarded in the competition reportedly involves a cream pie.

In the spirit of giving during the upcoming holiday season, Lamb County residents are encouraged to “Give a pair of socks. Save a pair of feet.” for those among us who have fallen on hard times.
