David Wayne Howell, 73, of Spade, TX, passed away on Aug. 3, 2025, in Littlefield, TX. He was born on Feb. 28, 1952, in Lubbock, TX to William and Kathleen Howell. He married Doris Brown on Oct. 13, 1979.
David graduated from Frenship High School in 1970. He was a proud graduate of Texas Tech University, where he earned his master’s degree in 1974, setting the stage for a remarkable career in agricultural education. As an FFA teacher in Haskell, TX, Bronte, TX, Abernathy, TX and for 35 years in Cotton Center, TX. David inspired countless students, encouraging their talents and capabilities and guiding them to over 20 National Championships in FFA contests. He enjoyed restoring old tractors, breathing new life into rusty relics. He dedicated his time to the Jubilee Prison Ministry He served as a Deacon at First Baptist Church in Littlefield, Texas.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wifes; a daughter; two brothers; five sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 7, 2025, at First Baptist Church in Littlefield, TX with Jonathan Land, Fernando Flores and Ted Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Anton Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2025, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family is asking that donations be made to a Christian or education charity of your choosing.
