...Believing when there is no hope...

Faith

Everyone has to choose at some point in their life which path they will choose. They either choose the wide path that leads to destruction or the narrow path that leads to life. Most people believe that what they see in front of them is real. They will not believe in what is unseen, no matter what they read. Many will lead the life of getting everything this world has to offer them, and they will die and cease into oblivion. That is the sad nature of not having faith in something divine and greater. However, that is where many are trending right now; they refuse to have faith in something that cannot be seen.

The problem is that faith requires people to believe in something supernatural, like miracles, divine intervention, or things that are not scientific, but having faith is more than just belief. It encompasses all facets of our existence, even in times of trouble, to believe that Christ is with us always. It is tough to believe that God loves us when trials happen in our lives, we see wars everywhere, and evil; we wonder why God. However, it is not about the trial; it is about how we overcome those trials in life and turn to faith.

For certain people, it is hard to cope with trials in life because they were taught that if one has a high IQ, they will be fine. The secular school system teaches that a job is the only thing that will fill a void. We know that a job isn’t the thing that we ought to do if money is our main goal; we don’t have faith because we are taught to believe this is the only chance we get. Having faith in God means going against what we were taught in school, believing in something higher than ourselves. How to have faith in times of trial means to believe it will get better in time, that there is a grand scheme in the universe.

In summary, the notion that faith requires us to pray to a God that we have never met is a reality for the unbeliever. They know in their heart and soul that in times of strife, they reach for God, but only when life is throwing curveballs at them. Many times, when people have everything they desire, they have no need for God or faith, but it is important to note that in this world we will have trouble, but take note, God has overcome that trouble. Jesus died so we could have not only eternal life in heaven, but a relationship with him on this earth. So, having faith is like a rainbow of magical colors, each representing our inner desire for longing.
