Church services for Gaylon Lee Conner, age 63, of Springlake, Texas will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at First Baptist Church in Springlake with Rob Norris of Springlake officiating. Burial will be in Springlake Cemetery. Gaylon died Monday, January 13, 2025 in Littlefield, Texas. He was born June 13, 1961 in Plainview, Texas to A.L. and Topsy (Offield) Conner. He married Rhonda Houston in Clovis, New Mexico on September 2, 1988.
Gaylon played football in high school, and then attended West Texas A&M University. He was a volunteer fireman at Springlake, and served as Fire Chief as well. He was also the Mayor of Springlake for over 10 years, and the Parade Marshall over 36 years. Gaylon loved classic cars and restoring old cars. He was a fan of the old country music, and loved to watch TV. Gaylon was a farmer in his early years.
He is preceded in death by his father; and a sister, Nacola Furr. Gaylon is survived by his wife, Rhonda; his two sons, Cody Conner and Nati Hernandez of Springlake, Texas and Dustin Graham and Kandas of Bushland, Texas; his two daughters, Elizabeth Graham of Springlake, Texas and Victoria Conner and Jesse Guerra of Andrews, Texas; his mother, Topsy Conner of Springlake, Texas; two brothers, Ardis Conner of Springlake, Texas and Jody Conner of Springlake, Texas; and his eight grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105.
