Douglas John Scott, 78, of Lubbock passed away Sunday, January 5, 2025 in Lubbock. He was born July 23, 1946 in St. Ignacius, Montana to William Scott and Emily Orilla (Clawson) Scott.
Doug married Maria Gonzales March 22, 1966. The couple had three children, Wendi, Doug and Norma, which were raised as "Army brats" moving wherever Dad was stationed. Doug proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army for 18 years. He was a jack of all trades, doing tire repair and recycling aluminum. He enjoyed reading, watching old cowboy movies, and playing games like dominoes, Pinnocle and spades. Most of all he loved his family and being a "grandpa" to all of his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Wendi Silvas and husband, Miguel of Littlefield and Douglas 'DJ' Scott and wife, Teresa of Modesto, California; eight grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; two brothers, Jerry Scott and Ray Scott; four sisters, Mary Beth, Veva, Edna and Susan; and numerous extended family members. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria Scott; his daughter, Norma Silvas; his parents; and two brothers.
Memorial services with Military Honors will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at Grace Chapel in Hillcrest Funeral Home. Cremation arrangements are under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield.
