Martha Rogers, 83, of Littlefield, Texas, passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2024, in Littlefield, Texas. She was born January 27, 1941, in Mountain Springs, Texas to Ernest and Bessie Huey.
Martha graduated from Valley View High School in 1959 where she was a Majorette and Homecoming Queen. Martha married Gene Rogers February 23, 1967, in Mountain Springs, Texas. She worked as an accountant for the University of North Texas, retiring in 2006. After retirement her and her husband moved to Littlefield to be closer to family. Martha was an exceptional cook, and she loved spending time in the kitchen making meals, baking pies and all kinds of desserts. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Littlefield.
Martha is survived by a son, Ronnie Rogers and wife, Julie of Littlefield, Texas; a daughter, Reta Owen and husband, William of Tupelo, Mississippi; a daughter in-law, Amy Young of Danville, West Virginia; a sister, Linda Eaton of Gainesville, Texas; seven grandchildren, Alicia Hutchison, Chris Wilder, Kristi Truxthal, Sabrina Flowers, Steven Young, Ryan Rogers, and Reese Rogers; fifteen great grandchildren; and other extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Rogers; a son, Steve Young; a granddaughter, Lindsay Lavender; a sister, Joyce McCollum; and her parents.
Memorial Services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at First Baptist Church in Littlefield with Pastor Tanner Wilson officiating. The service will be broadcast virtually, you can watch at https://youtube.com/ @firstbaptistchurchlittlefi219?si=UJycwCft8JShCPmX.
