Looking for a FREE, simple activity that would improve your physical fitness, offer health education and social connections within your community? The Lamb Healthcare Center has the answer. Join the monthly “Walk with a Doc”!
Lamb Healthcare Center is working to start “Walk with a Doc” for Littlefield and Lamb County resi-dents. The program is held on the first Saturday of every month at 10 a.m. at the Crescent Park in Littlefield. It is an opportunity to walk with our local Physicians who will offer a brief presentation on a health topic and then lead participants on a walk at their own pace. The walks are FREE, open to all ages and abilities, and people with an eligible health plan can actually get paid for walking through a partnership with their eligible health plan and Grouper.
“Walk With a Doc” is a nationwide program that was established in 2005 and it continues to grow. The Crescent Park provides a walking track which is three quarters of a mile long for those who want to keep track of their progress and challenge themselves. It is a fun and free way for everyone in the community to socialize, improve their physical and mental well being, and learn ways to improve their health while actually doing a very simple, and enjoyable activity.
