Ollie R. Ross, 81, of Olton, died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2024, in Lubbock, TX. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 5, 2024, at Muleshoe Fellowship, in Muleshoe, with Steve Friskup officiating. Interment will follow at Muleshoe Memorial Park Cemetery under the care of Ramage Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 4, at Ramage Funeral Directors, in Olton.
Ollie was born May 13, 1943, in Muleshoe, TX, to Dewey and Audrey (Carter) Ross. He attended schools in Muleshoe and studied automatic transmissions at Transmission School in Dallas, graduating in 1963. He married Lydia Kane and they made their home in Olton in 1963. Ollie worked for Gray’s Garage in Olton and then for Olton ISD, where he was the transportation and bus director from 1972 to 1995. A member of Muleshoe Fellowship, Ollie enjoyed water skiing, snow skiing, camping, and fishing, His hobbies included playing dominos, penny anti poker, collecting coins and hunting for arrowheads.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; three sons; two brothers; a sister; and a great-granddaughter.
Ollie is survived by his daughters; and a sister. He was blessed with 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
