The annual Fourth of July Fundraising Event to benefit the Springlake Fire Dept. was held on Thursday, July 4th. The event featured a parade, a bake sale, and the gate admission included a hamburger/hotdog cookout as well as admission to the Will Bannister performance followed by a fireworks show presented by the City of Springlake Fire Department. Parade prizes in the Kids category were 1st Place- Nehemiah Morales, 2nd place- John Synatschk grandchildren, 4 wheeler, and 3rd Place- Jake & Laken Covey.
Float Category- 1st Place ($75)Springlake-Earth Varsity Cheerleaders; 2nd Place ($50)- Junior High Cheerleaders, 3rd Place ($25)Ladies Liberty.
Tractor Category- 1st Place-John Deere 4020- Blake Fennell, 2nd Place- John Deere 70- Carl Enloe, and 3rd Place-J ohn Deere 820- Blake Fennell.
Cars- 1st Place- 1937 Sudan Fire Truck, 2nd Place- Zac Riley, and 3rd Place- 1978 Lincoln Continental Town Car.
The Cake Auction followed, netting the Fundraiser an estimated $8,000.00. The totals for the gate admissions were not available at press time.
Following the auction, Will Bannister performed for the participants until sunset, and then Fireworks presented by the Springlake Fire Department ended the celebration with a bang!
