T J Smith, 83, of Olton, died Tuesday, May 21, 2024, in Olton, Texas. Funeral services was held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 25, 2024, at the First Baptist Church, in Olton, with Brother David Azam and Pastor Paul Cypert officiating. Interment followed at Olton Cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.
T J was born January 26, 1941, in his home, on the farm, east of Olton, Texas, to Norman and Clemmie (Richards) Smith. He began farming in the late 1950’s and farmed for over 60 years. On September 3, 1961, T J married Joyce Gray.
T J enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing card or domino games. A talented artist, T J could draw just about anything but was really good at caricatures and cartoon characters.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son; and two brothers. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife; his daughter; two sisters; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
