Virgil Dean Turner, Jr.

Virgil Dean Turner, Jr. passed away on April 30, 2024. He was born on June 11, 1937 in Floydada, Texas to Virgil Turner, Sr. and Edith Wiggins.
Virgil grew up in Lubbock, Texas with four brothers and two sisters. He joined the Marines at the age of 16 and became a Flying Captain. He later moved to California. He was bless with six beautiful children: Christopher, James, Jessie, Carl, Clifford and Deanna. Virgil loved his children and provided the best that any child would have ever expected from a father. In his later years he returned back to Lubbock and lived out the rest of his 27 years preaching and sharing the Gospel to any and all who wanted to hear. He married Juanita Sewell on August 17, 2021.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. to 12 Noon on Tuesday, May28 and Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at Griffen Mortuary, 1715 E. Broadway in Lubbock, TX.
