Ausencio ‘ Chencho’ Hernandez, 93, of Littlefield, Texas passed away Thursday May 9, 2024, in Littlefield, Texas. He was born Dec. 18, 1930, in Kyle, Texas to Miguel and Lorenza Hernandez.
Chencho worked for Littlefield Independent School District as a custodian at the Junior High School. He was a Dallas Cowboys fan. He enjoyed working on lawnmowers in the shop. He was a devout Catholic and a Crusista in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Littlefield.
Chencho is survived by a son; three daughters; three brothers; one sister; ten grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; a daughter; a son-in-laws; four brothers; and one sister.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Jeff Church officiating. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Rosary was held Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be Austin Cummings, Levi Cummings, Stephen Duran, Stephen Hernandez, Paul Duran, and Hervey Valdez. Arrangements are under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield, Texas.
