In spite of the slushy, messy outdoors during Pep’s 68th annual Thanksgiving Festival, thousands found a parking place at the St. Phillip Neri Parish Hall Thanksgiving Day to eat lunch. There were 1,223+ plates sold, including carry-outs. Those who didn’t eat there, took theirs with them to eat elsewhere. A long line of hungry people were waiting when the doors to the food line were opened shortly before 11 a.m. Here, plates were being filled with German Sausage, turkey, dressing, gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans, cranberry sauce, sauerkraut, and fresh-made bread. A wide variety of desserts was available, next to the iced tea and water to drink with the meal. There was another long line of people who purchased their carry-out plates. Before the serving line was opened, another huge order was filled at this table for gins that ordered plates for their employees for the day.
