Ben “Burro” Perez, was born in Artesia, NM to Isabel Perez and Paula Barragan Perez on Sept. 11, 1945. He passed away on Thursday, Sept. 28, 2023.
Ben moved to Texas in his younger years and had since made Littlefield his home. Ben married Alicia Perez, together they had one daughter, Susan Perez Ramirez. Ben worked for a fertilizer plant, worked as a detailer and worked for Gandy’s many years ago. He gained the name Burro while working in the fields. He enjoyed working in the yard, riding his bike or walking around Laguna Park daily and sitting outside to see everyone who passed by.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 5, 2023 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Littlefield. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Prayer services will be held at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2023 at Grace Chapel in Littlefield. Arrangements are under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield.
