Wildcats take down Mules, 50-26 in “War on 84”

The Littlefield Wildcats’ varsity football team won their annual War on 84 rivalry game over Muleshoe on Friday, 50-26, at Wildcat Stadium.With the win, the Wildcats improve to 6-1 overall, 1-1 in district play.

On Aug. 8, 2025, Tamiya Airee Sertuche entered a guilty plea to the offense of Possession of Marijuana <2oz, that occurred on June 1, 2025. The defendant was placed on deferred Adjudication Community Supervision for 12 months.She also has to pay $365 in Reimbursement Fees and $270 in court costs.

Littlefield School Board to meet Monday

The Littlefield Independent School District Board of Trustees will meet in Regular Session on Monday, October 20, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. in the Board Room of the Jerry Blakely Administration Building.

Steve Raney wins Week 7 Football Contest

The Lamb County Leader-News’ annual football contest’s wrapped up week seven last week, as High School teams across the state began district play.Brenda Herrell and Steve Raney tied for the top spot this week with a 17- 3 mark, while we had four contestants tie for second place with a mark of 16-4.

Amherst, Olton, Springlake VFDs awarded grants

The Texas A&M Forest Service conducted the first funding meeting for FY 2026 on Oct. 14 and awarded approximately $164 million in grants to Texas volunteer fire departments, which included 558 fire trucks and 321 slip-on units through the Rural Volunteer Fire Department Assistance Program (RVFDAP).
