Library is seeking yearbook donations

Are your yearbooks collecting dust? Taking up valuable space? Wanting to declutter? The Lamb County Library is seeking donations of Littlefield High School yearbooks. In an effort to update and complete the library’s collection, the library asking if anyone is willing to part with their old yearbooks.

Littlefield Elementary School has released its Honor Rolls for the Sixth six weeks of the school year. “A” HONOR ROLL Third Grade: Dylan Adkins, Isaias Cedillo, Ian Mata, Kaitlyn Meiwes, Emmaris Ojeda, Aubries Torres, Christian Trevino, Kendall Vargas and Eli Wilson.

South Plains College congratulates more than 300 students who were named to the Spring 2021 President’s List. Those from Lamb County are: Littlefield: Kevin Bass, Selene Maldonado, James Lockridge, Genasis Garza, Hailee Villanueva, Jesus Nunez Gutierrez, and Victoria Varner.

Fire damages residence on East 23rd St.

A residence at 128 East 23rd Street in Littlefield, was heavily damaged in a fire that began just before midnight Sunday, May 30, and early Monday, May 31, 2021. According to a report on the Littlefield Fire Department’s Social Media Page: “At 12:18 a.m., Littlefield Fire Department Engines 1 and 2 and Command, responded to the residence on East 23rd Street for a report of smoke coming from the residential structure.

Juneteenth Celebration scheduled for June 19th

Littlefield’s 2021 Juneteenth Celebration will be held in Dunbar Park Saturday, June 19, 2021, at the Van Ashley Pavilion. The Community Brotherhood will be grilling hamburgers for the free hamburger meal.

USDA - Producers with Crop Insurance to Receive Premium Benefit for Cover Crops

WASHINGTON, June 1, 2021 – Agricultural producers who have coverage under most crop insurance policies are eligible for a premium benefit from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) if they planted cover crops during this crop year. The Pandemic Cover Crop Program (PCCP), offered by USDA’s Risk Management Agency (RMA), helps farmers maintain their cover crop systems, despite the financial challenges posed by the pandemic.
