After being closed for about three months due to illnesses, the Lamb Healthcare Center’s Auxiliary Gift Shop will be reopening on Monday, Oct. 18 . The doors will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. atrium of the hospital.

The Board of Managers of the Lamb County Hospital, Lamb Healthcare Center, will conduct a regular business meeting at 12 noon, Tuesday, October 19, 2021 in the Education Room of the hospital, 1500 South Sunset, in Littlefield.

The Littlefield Independent School District Board of Trustees will meet in Regular Session on Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2021, at 7 p.m.

During almost two decades of writing weekly accounts of humorous and/or unlikely occurrences, I’ve never come across anything quite so bizarre as the subject of this week’s epistle. It is a legal case in progress, as the wheels of justice necessarily turn slowly.

Effective Monday, Oct. 18, 2021, the City of Littlefield Animal Control will be changing their policy in regard to animal traps and trap requests. These changes are being made for several reasons but primarily for the betterment and safety of all potential animals we would be catching.

Constitutional carry has come to Texas and, as a law-abiding gun owner, it’s your responsibility to be armed and educated on the nuances of this new law. A class is being sponsored here in Littlefield by Aim to Carry and Texas Law Shield Tuesday, Oct. 19th from 6 to 8 p.m. at the County AG Center. Cotton producers and ginners throughout the High Plains region are ramping up harvest and ginning activity on the 2021 cotton crop after receiving almost ideal weather to finish out the crop over the past month and a half.

A team of scientists from Texas A&M AgriLife has received a $10 million grant from the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture to improve agricultural production and evaluate the impacts of regenerative agriculture in semi-arid ecoregions in Texas and Oklahoma.
