Approximately 55 percent of Texas is impacted by drought as of September 1, 2020. This compares to 57 percent a week ago, 14 percent three months ago, and 43 percent a year ago.

Extreme or worse drought covers 13 percent of the state. This is the largest value since August 2018, according to Water Weekly.

The monitored water supply reservoirs across the state are 82.3 percent full as of September 11, 2020.

Within the Texas Panhandle, Lake Alan Henry is 94.1 percent full; MacKenzie Reservoir is 9.6 percent full, Lake Meredith is 37.9 percent full; and White River Reservoir is 15 percent full. None of these surface water reservoirs are within the HPWD service area.
