In gratitude for the service volunteers provide throughout the year, a special date was set for the group in Lamb County. Keeping in mind, that we are in the middle of a Pandemic and the volunteers cannot meet as a large group during Covid, they celebrated with a Drive-Thru Recognition in Plainview and Littlefield.
There was no need for them to step out of their vehicle, all they needed to do was sign for the package that was placed in their car.
For volunteers who turned in a reservation, they were treated with a goodie bag that included an ID holder with a $25 gift card to United, $10 McDonald’s card, cloth masks, hand sanitizer, antibacterial wipes, Covid literature including about the newly-released vaccine, all placed in a red “AmeriCorps Seniors” bag, tied with a bow and a candy cane.
The event took place from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.Tuesday, Dec. 15, at First Baptist Church, Ministry & Activity Center in Littlefield. Volunteers from the Lamb Healthcare Auxiliary who were honored were Betty Kemp, Kay Cloninger, Lori Durham and Gayle Heckard.
We are excited and thankful for the service our volunteers provided during this difficult year. There have been challenges, but many have come up with creative and safe ways to volunteer. We look forward to 2021 and the many good opportunities in store for them.
