Littlefield Police Deplartment has released news about a few of its investigations into offenses from Sept. 30, thru Oct. 4, 2020.

On Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2020, an officer was dispatched to a residence on West Sixth Street, to investigate the theft of medication.

The victim reported that this was the second time someone unknown has stolen prescription drugs from his mailbox.

The officer took a report on the theft, and so the victim could file a report for the VA.

At 6:08 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, two officers were dispatched to the Stripes Store on South Hall Avenue in Littlefield, in reference to an unwanted person.

The store manager reported that the person had been in the storee in the past, and he has had trouble with his stealing items.

Officers issued a trespass warning, to which the suspect signed.

A statement and video from the store were provided to the officers for report and further investigation.

At 7:47 a.m. Oct. 4, 2020, an officer was dispatched to U.S. Hwy 84, in reference to a vehicle that was parked partially in the roadway on the highway.

The officer found the driver asleep in a black Dodge Dart, with its motor running, and its front end partially in the right lane of the highway. Officers received permission

Officers received permission from the driver to search the vehicle, and found baggies and a scale in the center console of the car. The digital scale was confiscated and turned into the property room at the Police Station.

The driver was issued a citation on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor as defined by the Texas Health and Safety Code 481.125.

He was allowed to drive home, due to not showing enough clues during the Standard Field Sobriety Tests that were made on a level surface.
