Olton First United Methodist Church serving chili-stew meal Saturday, Nov. 21

Olton’s First United Methodist Church will serve its annual Chili-Stew on Saturday, Nov. 21, as a carry-out meal, due to the Covid-19 Pandemic.

The meal will be served between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. from the church’s fellowship hall, 312 Avenue D. in Olton.

On the menu is a choice of chili or stew, cornbread muffins and dessert.

The cost for children 2 to 10-years old, is $3, while the cost for adults is $7.

The Country Store will be held this year, but with a little different format. Items will be viewed on facebook and orders taken ahead of time for baked goods, canned goods and frozen casseroles. Check FUMC Olton Facebook page for more details.

Items may be picked up at the church on Nov. 21, between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m..

Ladies of the church are taking donations towards owning two hand-made quilts this year.

“Urban Fences” is a quilted throw, made by Teresa Wilks Light and her mother, Jane Wilks.

A “Piggy and Frog” crib quilt, was made by Anita Mandrell.

Tickets are $2.50 each, or five for $10 for either quilt, which will be drawn at 1 p.m. on Nov. 21. People do not need to be present to win the quilt.
