On April 16, the new Lamb County Justice of the Peace for Precinct 4 office opened its doors in Sudan.
After spending 14 years in an older office across from City Hall, Matt Hanna drew up the floor plans for his new office.
Located on 405 Highway 84, Hanna’s office includes an office space, storage areas, a courtroom, a waiting area and even a personal kitchen.
City officials from across the county gathered to celebrate the grand opening with a cake. Hanna continuously expressed his excitement for the new space.
“It’s great, you don’t have to worry about getting cold in the winter or hot in the summertime,” Hanna laughed.
Additionally, the new space serves as a permanent structure to host future elected Justice of the Peace officials, Hanna said.
With his new space, Hanna said he is ready to continue serving the community.
“I’m here anytime if they have any questions,” Hanna said, “I’m not just here to fine them.”
