Body

Effective Monday, Oct. 18, 2021, the City of Littlefield Animal Control will be changing their policy in regard to animal traps and trap requests. These changes are being made for several reasons but primarily for the betterment and safety of all potential animals we would be catching.

Trap Handling:

• All trap requests will now be processed and accepted Monday thru Thursday. If an individual would like to have a trap placed at their location, they will now have to fill out a Trap Request Form. This form will have to be filled out and given to the Animal Control Officer before they can place the trap on a private residence. You can obtain a copy of this form from City Hall or the Animal Control Officer.

• Traps will only be placed out Monday thru Thursday and all traps will be collected on Fridays. Animal Control will no longer be allowing traps to be left out over the weekends, this is due to the safety of the animals and best handling practices for the traps.

• During times of bad weather, such as rain, extreme cold, extreme heat, or snow we will not be placing traps out. This is strictly to ensure the safety of any animal potentially caught in our traps.

Trap distribution and handling is currently a free service we here at Animal Control offer. We would like to thank all of our citizens for their continued understanding as we keep making positive changes at Animal Control. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Cory at Animal Control at 806-385-9202.
