The week of George Washington’s Birthday was designated as National FFA Week in 1947 at a National FFA Board of Directors meeting. FFA Week always runs from Saturday to Saturday, and encompasses February 22, Washington’s Birthday. FFA Week is an opportunity for FFA members, alumni and sponsors to advocate for agricultural education and FFA. It’s a time to share with local, state and national audiences what FFA is and the impact it has on members every day.

FFA and agricultural education provide a strong foundation for the youth of America and the future of food, fiber and natural resources systems.

FFA promotes premier leadership, personal growth and career success among its members.

Agricultural education and FFA ensure a steady supply of young professionals to meet the growing needs in the science, business and technology of agriculture

The FFA motto — “Learning to Do, Doing to Learn, Earning to Live, Living to Serve” — gives direction and purpose to these students who take an active role in succeeding in agricultural education.

FFA promotes citizenship, volunteerism, patriotism and cooperation.
