Monday afternoon I visited with Littlefield’s new Utilities Manager, Michael Neighbors.

Michael comes to us from the City of Shallowater, where he just retired after 20 years of Service there, and has been at the Littlefield Water Department, for the last 2 weeks. Michael has been married 26 years and he and his wife, Jana, have three grown children.

I asked Michael what he did in Shallowater before he came to Littlefield, and he said: “I began as a night patrolman there for 1-1/ 2 years, then I went to day Patrolman. From there I was promoted to Sergeant, and next, I was Chief of Police for Shallowater for 6 years.

I served as City Administrator for 7 years, and then I was Emergency Management Coordinator from 2005 until I retired May 17, 2019.

Michael stated that his outlook for Littlefield, as Utilities Manager, is “I want to make things much better in this Department and I’d also like to strengthen services here.”

Welcome to Littlefield, Michael, and we look forward to the progress you can help achieve in our town.
