Veterans and Citizens of Lamb County gathered at the Lamb County Veterans Memorial on Hall Avenue in Littlefield, Texas on Sunday, November 5, 2023 to pay tribute to the veterans who served in the armed services of the United States of America.

The event was organized by Kim Billingsley retired Army Nurse. Following the Pledge of Allegiance, Mrs. Billingsley introduced the day’s speaker, Rob Norris, the pastor of the First Baptist Church of Springlake, Texas. He spoke of the faith and strength required to serve as a defender of our country without succumbing to hatred.

Following Pastor Norris’s address, the group sang the songs of each branch of the military.

Mrs. Billingsley acknowledge the people who contributed to the event. Jimmy Garcia provided the music, members of the Lamb County 4-H raised the flags as well as passed out the handouts and assisted in setting up the event, Debbie McCain and Anthony Thomas, for maintaining the memorial and taking responsibility for the bunting and the flags displayed at the memorial. Marshal King was recognized for serving as the grounds keeper at the Lamb County Veterans Memorial. She also encouraged the veterans present to apply for the annual “Honor Flight” to Washington D. C.

The event concluded with the singing of “God Bless America”
