As a senior at Littlefield, this past season, Jones earned Firstteam All-District running back honors.

“We knew he was going to be one of our go-to guys for us offensively and I’m just excited that he gets to continue his football career and hopefully get his schooling paid for,” Head Coach Bo Bryant said. “It’s great to see our kids have so much success and it’s great to see them be able to have the opportunity to continue to play football.”

Jones talked about what the recruiting process was like for him, explaining, “I contacted them first and that’s how things got started, but since then, the coaches have been constantly checking on me. The contact with them has been really good.”

Jones was recruited to play running back for the Bulldogs.

Jones explained that his senior season really opened his eyes that he could have a shot at playing football in college.

“I saw that I could have a shot at playing college football and I really wanted to, so I seized the opportunity,” he said.

Mason’s Parents, Marty and Amy Jones talked about what it means to them to see there some be able to continue his career at the collegiate level, saying, “We’re super proud of him; he has put in a lot of hard work over the years and this is something he wanted to do, so we just tried to support him as much as we can. We are super proud of him.”

Amy Jones added, “I’m so proud of him, and seeing him get to continue on makes me really proud for him.”

Jones talked about how he feels his time at Littlefield and the coaches have prepared him to play college football, saying, “It’s been great here and I will cherish every memory with all of my teammates and coaches. I’m just blessed to have been a part of Wildcat Football.”

He added, “My favorite memory of being a Wildcat is just going out there and playing on Friday nights.”

Jones said the thing he most looking forward to about playing college football is just getting to work and getting back to playing football.

Marty Jones talked about how they have seen their son grow both on and off the field, stating, “It’s been really good for him. He had some success last year and it really helped his confidence and it is part of the reason he wanted to keep going. But we’ve seen him really grow into himself and become more confident.”

Jones said his intended major is undecided.
