Littlefield resident Sandra Garcia Hernandez is indicted in connection with a fatal overdose that occurred last December.
In 2023, Governor Greg Abbott passed House Bill 6, a law that enacts criminal murder charges for supplying fentanyl that results in death.
Police reports say 58-year-old Hernandez supplied 29-year-old Tyler Perez with fentanyl, resulting in his death in December of 2023.
A Lamb County Grand Jury issued the indictment on Nov. 25 and took Hernandez into custody on Nov. 26.
