A Little Free Library, is a neighborhood book exchange where anyone can take a book and leave one. The goal is to promote literacy and community engagement by allowing residents to share books, fostering a sense of belonging and connection within the community.
Olton Area Library was contacted by Tony Beneventi, an engineer from Mortenson Company about community interest in a no cost Little Free Library. Mortenson is installing a solar grid in Earth, Tx. I Immediately said, yes! Beneventi came to the library, and we discussed the best location. We decided it would have the biggest impact on our community at the Olton Pavilion. I contacted the OCC and requested permission for the library to be placed there.
We are very grateful to have been selected to be the caretakers of this generous donation, and we hope with the community’s care it will have a positive impact on Olton area readers of all ages.
